Film bits and bobs

Raze (2013)

A male director (Josh C. Waller) and his male co-writers (Robert Beaucage, Kenny Gage) play at containing & controlling Zoë Bell’s unleashed maenadism, along the way problematising and punishing the male gaze. This is a self-critical exploitation flick exposing patriarchy as a Sadean trap – a brutal form of escapism from which there is no escape (for women). If the plot of Raze seems preposterous, just think of it as an allegory for any workplace or institution.
